This is a look at the first-round order for the 2025 NFL Draft heading into Week 14 of the 2024 NFL season, along with the top five needs for each team. The order is determined by record, using strength of schedule as the first tiebreaker (click here to see a full list of the draft-order tiebreakers). Keep in mind -- teams that would make the playoffs if the season ended today are marked as PL (short for playoffs) in the order below. The draft order for playoff teams is determined by the results of postseason play.
Arrows reflect movement from last week's order.
Biggest needs: QB, OT, CB, WR, OG
Week 14 opponent: vs. Saints
Remaining strength of schedule: .548 (13th)
It's telling that when stalwart left tackle Andrew Thomas went down in October with a season-ending Lisfranc injury, a healthy Evan Neal wasn't the next man up. The 2022 seventh overall pick, who has since taken over (and struggled) at right tackle, has yet to find his footing as a pro. If his play doesn't pick up down the stretch, New York will have to prioritize the tackle position early in the draft.
Biggest needs: QB, WR, RB, DT, CB
Week 14 opponent: at Buccaneers
Remaining strength of schedule: .433 (24th)
How cool was it to see former practice-squad back Sincere McCormick lead the Raiders' rushing attack against the reigning champs last Friday? After waiting more than two years for his shot, the 24-year-old tallied 64 yards on 12 carries, outproducing veteran Ameer Abdullah. If McCormick can earn more looks down the stretch, he could play his way into a bigger role for 2025. But Vegas will still need to bring in a true difference-maker at the position to upgrade its 32nd-ranked ground game.
Biggest needs: CB, S, WR, DT, OG
Week 14 opponent: at Titans
Remaining strength of schedule: .279 (32nd)
The Jaguars enter Week 14 holding the third overall pick, but thanks to their 32nd-ranked SOS remaining, they're actually on a trajectory to earn the No. 1 selection by season's end -- even if New York and Vegas both lose out. What position the Jags target first will obviously depend on their final draft slot, but looking past their options at the top of the draft board, I expect the team to target a pass catcher in the middle rounds who could compete for a 2025 roster spot.
Biggest needs: OT, CB, Edge, WR, OG
Week 14 opponent: Bye
Remaining strength of schedule: .708 (1st)
The Patriots released 2022 second-round pick Tyquan Thornton in mid-November after watching the wideout manage 39 receptions over 28 career games, including just four catches this season. The team's second-round pick from this year, Ja'Lynn Polk, hasn't fared much better, bringing in 12 passes over 12 games while dealing with drops. And 2024 fourth-rounder, Javon Baker, can barely get on the field (5.0 snaps per game). The team must invest in more reliable options if Drake Maye is to take the next step in his development.
Biggest needs: Edge, WR, C, QB, CB
Week 14 opponent: at Eagles
Remaining strength of schedule: .550 (12th)
Bryce Young has played well enough over the last month to have earned the Panthers' confidence for 2025. However, Andy Dalton will be a free agent in the spring, so the team may still look to the draft to add depth at the position.
Biggest needs: WR, Edge, QB, OT, DT
Week 14 opponent: at Steelers
Remaining strength of schedule: .607 (5th)
After dealing Za'Darius Smith to Detroit before the trade deadline, the Browns should be looking for help off the edge. They've claimed James Houston and Cameron Thomas via waivers recently, but spending an early draft pick on a pass rush threat to play opposite Myles Garrett could provide a massive upgrade.
Biggest needs: QB, DT, OT, S, CB
Week 14 opponent: at Dolphins
Remaining strength of schedule: .467 (19th)
The Jets face substantial turnover at several positions this offseason, with quarterback being the obvious and most pressing. But I'm curious to see how they address the cornerback room, with D.J. Reed, Isaiah Oliver and Brandin Echols all headed toward free agency. It's possible recent Jets picks Jarrick Bernard-Converse (Round 6, 2023) and Qwan'tez Stiggers (Round 5, 2024) will step into larger roles next season, but unless multiple veterans are signed in free agency, New York will need to address the position again at some point in the draft.
Biggest needs: WR, Edge, OT, S, OG
Week 14 opponent: vs. Jaguars
Remaining strength of schedule: .355 (30th)
The Titans have two of the better interior D-linemen in the league, in Jeffery Simmons and T'Vondre Sweat, but the team could use more impact players on the edge to round out the front seven.
Biggest needs: CB, WR, TE, RB, OT
Week 14 opponent: at Cowboys
Remaining strength of schedule: .459 (20th)
Former fifth-round pick Chase Brown has lived up to expectations in Year 2, becoming the Bengals' top option in the backfield. But the team will need to add depth behind him this offseason. Look for Cincinnati to try to land another value back on Day 3 of the draft.
Biggest needs: OG, C, WR, DT, Edge
Week 14 opponent: at 49ers
Remaining strength of schedule: .700 (2nd)
The Bears fired head coach Matt Eberflus last Friday following the team's latest late-game meltdown, which means the defensive scheme -- and defensive personnel -- could look significantly different in 2025.
Biggest needs: Edge, CB, WR, S, OT
Week 14 opponent: at Giants
Remaining strength of schedule: .443 (T-22nd)
With Will Harris headed for free agency and Tyrann Mathieu due to hit the market after next season, 2023 fifth-round pick Jordan Howden could play a bigger role in 2025. The Saints should still be looking for another young safety to add to the mix, though.
Biggest needs: S, OG, DT, LB, QB
Week 14 opponent: vs. Jets
Remaining strength of schedule: .361 (29th)
Miami does not have any guards under contract for 2025. Center Aaron Brewer could shift back to his old position next year, but I think it's more probable the team re-signs Liam Eichenberg or Robert Jones and then adds another starting-caliber guard in the draft.
Biggest needs: RB, Edge, DT, CB, WR
Week 14 opponent: vs. Bengals
Remaining strength of schedule: .508 (17th)
The Cowboys must add another big body up front to shore up the run defense in case 2023 first-round pick Mazi Smith does not blossom into an above-average starter next season. Dallas allows 4.9 yards per carry and has given up a league-high 21 touchdowns on the ground in 2024.
Biggest needs: CB, OT, OG, DT, LB
Week 14 opponent: vs. Bears
Remaining strength of schedule: .533 (14th)
With Colton McKivitz a year away from free agency, San Francisco should use at least a middle-round pick on an offensive tackle to provide depth behind the 49ers’ starters.
Biggest needs: CB, IOL, Edge, LB, S
Week 14 opponent: Bye
Remaining strength of schedule: .306 (31st)
Indianapolis seems likely to find itself in the market for another deep defender who can compete for playing time. Julian Blackmon is scheduled to reach free agency in March and Nick Cross’ contract expires after next season.
Biggest needs: OT, CB, WR, LB, QB
Week 14 opponent: vs. Bills
Remaining strength of schedule: .517 (16th)
The inside linebacker position should be a priority this offseason. Christian Rozeboom and the injured Troy Reeder are due to become free agents in 2025. Undrafted rookie Omar Speights has played well in Reeder's absence, but more depth will be needed even if one of the veterans returns on a new deal.
Biggest needs: WR, OG, LB, Edge, OT
Week 14 opponent: vs. Raiders
Remaining strength of schedule: .367 (28th)
Backup tackle Justin Skule is ticketed for free agency and starting right tackle Luke Goedeke enters a contract year in 2025, so the Bucs should find a swing tackle in the middle of the draft to provide depth.
Biggest needs: Edge, WR, OG, DT, CB
Week 14 opponent: vs. Seahawks
Remaining strength of schedule: .393 (27th)
Marvin Harrison Jr. is a blossoming star at receiver and Michael Wilson is a solid WR2. However, the Cardinals will need more help at the position in 2025 with the contracts for Greg Dortch and Zay Jones expiring.
Biggest needs: C, Edge, S, CB, WR
Week 14 opponent: at Vikings
Remaining strength of schedule: .410 (26th)
Biggest needs: Edge, LB, OT, OG, QB
Week 14 opponent: at Cardinals
Remaining strength of schedule: .583 (9th)
Biggest needs: WR, Edge, LB, CB, OT
Week 14 opponent: Bye
Remaining strength of schedule: .521 (15th)
Biggest needs: OT, LB, TE, S, RB
Week 14 opponent: Bye
Remaining strength of schedule: .592 (7th)
Biggest needs: OG, DT, CB, WR, Edge
Week 14 opponent: Bye
Remaining strength of schedule: .551 (11th)
Biggest needs: OT, WR, Edge, OG, CB
Week 14 opponent: Bye
Remaining strength of schedule: .449 (21st)
Biggest needs: Edge, DT, C, WR, S
Week 14 opponent: at Chiefs
Remaining strength of schedule: .484 (18th)
Biggest needs: QB, CB, OT, RB, WR
Week 14 opponent: vs. Browns
Remaining strength of schedule: .590 (8th)
Biggest needs: CB, Edge, OT, DT, WR
Week 14 opponent: at Lions
Remaining strength of schedule: .600 (6th)
Biggest needs: WR, Edge, TE, LB, OG
Week 14 opponent: vs. Panthers
Remaining strength of schedule: .443 (T-22nd)
Biggest needs: CB, DT, RB, OG, OT
Week 14 opponent: vs. Falcons
Remaining strength of schedule: .617 (4th)
Biggest needs: CB, WR, Edge, DT, S
Week 14 opponent: at Rams
Remaining strength of schedule: .419 (25th)
Biggest needs: CB, DT, OG, WR, LB
Week 14 opponent: vs. Chargers
Remaining strength of schedule: .581 (10th)
Biggest needs: Edge, CB, WR, OG, DT
Week 14 opponent: vs. Packers
