Looks like Marshawn Lynch isn't about that training camp action, boss.
The enigmatic Seahawks running back says he is holding out of training camp until he gets a new deal, per Michael Robinson on NFL Networks' Inside Training Camp Live. This followed the summer's minicamp in which Lynch threatened to skip team activities before finally showing up -- perhaps in response to a slew of positive stories featuring Christine Michael.
A Beast Mode holdout now opens the door for Michael to step in as Seattle's go-to running back. The young runner from Texas A&M is certain to move up draft boards, but it's important to exercise caution. If Lynch goes the Jamaal Charles route and reports to camp quickly, Michael goes back to being a handcuff with minimal value. If this standoff drags on for a number of weeks, fantasy owners might want to start looking at Lynch's understudy as a legitimate fantasy option. After all, running backs who have held out in the past have a generally sketchy history.
