New York Giants running back Ahmad Bradshaw underwent surgery over the weekend to clean out debris in his left ankle, *The New York Post* reported Monday.
Bradshaw reported on his Twitter account that all went well, tweeting Monday: "had a minor procedure everything went perfect, I will be ready to go soon! definitely by the season! I Cant wait til next season!!!"
Bradshaw, a four-year NFL veteran, ran for a career-high 1,235 yards in his first year as a starter, but his contract has expired and his situation almost certainly will not be settled until a new collective bargaining agreement is approved. The current CBA expires March 3.
Bradshaw told The Post that his left ankle bothered him during the season.
"It wasn't a big factor unless someone really got a hold of it," he said. "Beginning of the year, it didn't affect me. At the end of the year, I felt a lot of easy tackles I could break at the beginning of the year, it was just bringing me down."
Bradshaw, who revealed during Super Bowl week that he played the final six games with a broken left wrist that will not require surgery, underwent three offseason operations last year, one on each foot and another to clean up his right ankle.
