Bill Parcells and the Miami Dolphins have formally parted ways.
Dolphins spokesman Harvey Greene said Thursday that Parcells is "not associated with the team anymore in any official capacity."
Parcells, who coached the New York Giants to two Super Bowl victories and whose final New England Patriots team also reached the big game, will join ESPN as a special analyst for the NFL draft in April.
Parcells, 69, signed a four-year contract with the Dolphins in December 2007, after Miami finished a 1-15 season. He brought head coach Tony Sparano and general manager Jeff Ireland on board in January 2008.
The Dolphinsconfirmed last October that Parcells was taking a "leave of absence" from his role as executive vice president of football operations and wouldn't work at the team's complex, instead serving as a consultant.
Before the start of the 2010 season, Parcells gave control of football operations to Ireland.
Parcells fashioned a 303-172 record in 19 seasons as an NFL coach, including three with the New York Jets and four with the Dallas Cowboys after his stints with the Giants and Patriots.
Parcells worked as an ESPN studio analyst in 2001, 2002 and 2007 between NFL jobs.
