The newspaper also reported that the Broncos played host to Auburn quarterback Cam Newton on Tuesday. John Elway, the Broncos' executive vice president of football operations, is said to be enamored with Newton's arm strength and athletic ability. The Broncos drafted another Heisman Trophy-winning quarterback, Tim Tebow, in the first round last year.
The 6-foot-4, 246-pound Miller is widely regarded as the top pass rusher in the draft after leading the NCAA in sacks with 17 as a junior in 2009 and adding 10.5 more last season despite suffering an early-season ankle injury.
The Broncos finished last in the league in sacks, managing just 23 last season, and Fox has said he wants more impact players for his defense.
In addition to his pass-rush skills, Miller demonstrated the versatility to play in either 4-3 or 3-4 defenses during the workout season, which only added to his appeal.
"I tell them, a 3-4, a 4-3, a 5-2, however you want to line up, I just want to be the best defensive player in it," Miller said. "Ask me to do something, and I'll do it."
