Raiders in line to upset weary Jets in Week 3

Albert Breer went 11-5 with his predictions in Week 2 and is now 20-12 for the season. How will he fare in Week 3? His picks are below, with home teams listed second:

I think Buffalo will come out flying, and whip Ralph Wilson Stadium into a frenzy. That'll give this New England team its first real test of character. The Patriots pass this one.

I don't know that Blaine Gabbert will struggle to move the ball, period. But I do think he'll struggle in the red zone, and turn it over a couple times. Advantage: Cam Newton.

The Niners have been in two dogfights, and now travel across the country to play a Bengals team that, at the very least, is showing its toughness. Give me the home team.

I like Tony Sparano and his coordinators as coaches, and Miami's talent isn't bad. But there isn't a good vibe coming out of Miami right now. Colt McCoy takes advantage.

Leslie Frazier is getting the most out of his team. The problem is a) the quarterback and b) the fraying of the team's foundation on both lines. This is the week the crap hits the fan.

This figures to be a showcase of two of the league's best offenses, and a referendum on each club's defense. Wade Phillips' crew acquits itself well, but can't hang in the end.

It was hard not to notice New York's guile on Monday night. But banged up and on a short week, the Giants won't go step-for-step with Mike Vick and that supersonic offense.

I said earlier in the week that the Titans will be able to win games because of their strength at the line of scrimmage. In this case, it'll allow Tennessee to wear out Denver.

The Raiders proved plenty in Buffalo, competing their tails off after blowing a big lead. Without Nick Mangold, and traveling cross-country, that team represents a buzzsaw for the Jets.

The Chargers are coming home from a tough, mistake-ridden loss in Foxborough. They take it out on a Kansas City team that's combusted this September.

I still think the Rams are building the right way. But a combination of injuries and scheduling has made September difficult. And coming off a loss, Baltimore won't make it easier.

The last time Jay Cutler led a touchdown drive against the Packers at Soldier Field? It was 2009. The trend continues here, with Green Bay's defensive front overwhelming his offensive line.

The Cardinals are scrappy. The Seahawks are a scrapheap, at this point, committing to a long rebuild of the roster. That makes for another long Sunday afternoon.

Love this game, with two really good young QBs. My guess: Josh Freeman leads a big fourth-quarter drive to put Tampa Bay up. And Matt Ryan responds to win it.

Think the folks at NBC envisioned this matchup looking a little different back in April? There's still plenty to learn about where Pittsburgh is as a team. It won't happen this week.

Maybe I'm a sap for the tough-guy quarterback story. But I do think Tony Romo makes it happen in this spot, continuing to erase the criticism he engendered on opening night.
