It's not "Occupy Halas Hall" just yet, but Lance Briggs is fuming.
While taping his "Countdown to Kickoff" show on Comcast SportsNet Chicago, Bears linebacker Lance Briggs complained about a widening chasm between the team's front office and a host of players flush with contract drama.
"I don't know about where we are right now. In the past, things worked themselves out," Briggs said, via the Chicago Tribune. "There's a transition going on right now in Chicago, players and management not seeing eye to eye."
Just a sampling of the recent issues on the burner include Briggs lobbying for a trade before the season, safety Chris Harris begging out before Tuesday's trade deadline and Matt Forte telling reporters this week that he wouldn't be heartbroken to run the ball somewhere else next season.
Briggs sees a roster largely ignored by the boys upstairs, and it has taken a toll on morale.
"I don't know where it's going to go or pan out, especially for a guy like Matt Forte," Briggs riffed. "I think it takes away from wanting to go out on the field and just play. Football careers are not like normal careers. Very short, could end on any given day. It's a league about what have you done for me lately. And for (players) it's about getting what you can while you can."
