The Cincinnati Bengals finished Sunday's 24-17 loss to the Pittsburgh Steelers without wide receiver A.J. Green and cornerback Leon Hall, who suffered the more serious injury of the two.
Hall suffered a torn Achilles tendon and will miss the rest of the season, a league source told NFL Network insider Jason La Canfora.
Hall didn't return after leaving the game during the second quarter. Bengals coach Marvin Lewis didn't provide an update on Hall's injury following the game, saying it was still being evaluated.
Green tried, unsuccessfully, to play through a right knee injury he suffered on a leaping 36-yard touchdown reception late during the first quarter. Bengals coach Marvin Lewis said afterwards he didn't believe the injury was serious.
"He had a little bit of a hyperextension of his knee and it was getting a little tight," Lewis told reporters. "I think time will allow that to be fine."
Green came down awkwardly after the reception and was clearly in pain as he stayed down on one knee. He was eventually able to get to his feet, but wasn't able to put much weight on his right leg. Initially announced as probable to return, Green came back on the next series during the second quarter to run a 7-yard reverse. He then left again and was held out during the second half as a precaution, riding a stationary bike on the sideline.
"I just came down straight-legged and my knee buckled," Green said. "At halftime when I came in and sat down, it got real stiff. I couldn't really get any movement."
