Baltimore Ravens linebacker Ray Lewis likely will miss the next two games with a toe injury, according to multiple league sources.
The sources also said Lewis has informed team officials that he hopes to return to the field after Week 12.
It was reported late Thursday night by the Carroll County Times that Lewis would miss this weekend's pivotal AFC North tilt against the Cincinnati Bengals because of a toe injury he sustained during the Ravens' loss to the Seattle Seahawks this past weekend.
Lewis, who is listed as questionable on the team's injury report, missed all three practices this week, and it was reported that the All-Pro linebacker flew to South Florida this week to visit a foot specialist.
Ravens coach John Harbaugh refused rule out Lewis against the Bengals when addressing reporters Friday, indicating the linebacker would be a game-time decision.
"The thing about Ray, is Ray is Ray," Harbaugh said. "You can't count Ray out. ... Ray may not go, he may go. The Bengals will have to prepare for him either way."
Harbaugh added: "It's something he could possibly play with. (It's) not any kind of a serious, serious thing."
Lewis, 36, leads the Ravens with 68 tackles this season and has started 57 consecutive games.
Wideout Lee Evans (ankle) also was listed questionable Friday after practicing on a limited basis all week. Evans has not played since Week 2.
