It seems safe to say that Detroit Lions defensive tackle Ndamukong Suh has seen better days.
His week began with a two-game suspension, without pay, for stomping on Green Bay Packers offensive lineman Evan Dietrich-Smith in front of a national television audience during a Thanksgiving Day loss. It continued Friday when his appeal was denied. Then, on Saturday morning, the 24-year-old Suh crashed his car into a tree in downtown Portland, reported The Oregonian.
Suh and his two passengers were not injured, according to the report.
A Portland Police Bureau spokesman, Sgt. Pete Simpson, told The Oregonian that Suh simply lost control of a 1970 Chevrolet Coupe and crashed into a curb, light pole, a drinking fountain and a tree.
Police responded at about 1:15 a.m. PT and determined that Suh was not impaired, according to the report. Suh cooperated with the investigation and his car was towed from the scene, police told the newspaper.
Suh, a graduate of Grant High School in Portland, is barred from practice and the team's facility while suspended and is not eligible to return until Dec. 12.
