It's no revelation that Peyton Manning has turned up the volume on his rehabilitation regime to include throwing the football. But exactly who he's throwing to remains intriguing.
Manning has yet to practice with the Colts following his September neck surgery, so eyebrows were raised amid whispers that Indy's star quarterback was seen passing to teammates Austin Collie and Dallas Clark this week.
Not so, according to Collie.
"That didn't happen," the Colts wide receiver told The Indianapolis Star after Twitter traffic floated the rumor Tuesday, during the players' day off.
Clark, for one, hasn't practiced all week because of a neck injury, with coach Jim Caldwell calling the tight end "very unlikely" to play Sunday against the Titans.
As hope fades for Manning's return to field this season, the big question around the 35-year-old, five-time All-Pro has shifted. It's no longer whether or not he'll play again this year, but if he'll ever play again in a Colts uniform.
