There's no love lost between Ravens linebacker Terrell Suggs and Patriots quarterback Tom Brady.
This rivalry will bubble to the surface when Baltimore visits New England on Sunday for the right to play in Super Bowl XLVI. Don't expect to hear much from tight-lipped Brady, but Suggs -- aka T-Sizzle from Ball So Hard University -- probably will keep talking straight through kickoff, four quarters of football and beyond.
To Suggs, Brady represents the antithesis of what the Ravens are about.
"Tom Brady ... he's good looking. Joe (Flacco)'s got the Fu Manchu," Suggs told the New York Daily News after Sunday's 20-13 divisional-round win over the Texans. "They're a good-looking team. We're not a good-looking team."
Suggs and Brady have history. Back in 2009, the Ravens were infuriated by a questionable roughing-the-passer call on a play in which Suggs stumbled in the vicinity of Brady's surgically repaired knee.
The last time these two teams met -- a 23-20 overtime win for the Patriots in October 2010 -- Suggs and Brady were seen jawing throughout the game.
Lombardi: Tom Terrific
Tebowmania overshadowed Tom Brady entering the divisonal round, but the Patriots QB flipped the script, Michael Lombardi writes. **More ...**
"He was trying to tell me how to bag a Hollywood actress," Suggs said after that game, according to Comcast SportsNet New England. "He said, 'If you want to get a Hollywood actress, take my seminar on Saturday.' ... He was going over the Dow and the economy and politics. He doesn't really talk football that much."
"Well, he had his chance, so maybe if he gets another chance, he can try to back those words up," the QB said. "We play those guys a lot, and they've only beat us once (a 33-14 Ravens win in the 2009 wild-card playoff round). They talk a lot for only beating us once in nine years."
Suggs and the Ravens will try to make it two this weekend.
