A league source told NFL Network insider Jason La Canfora that the sides agreed to a five-year deal.

League sources also told La Canfora that Gregg Williams has agreed to leave the New Orleans Saints and join the Rams as defensive coordinator.

Though the Rams haven't confirmed the hire, Saints linebacker Jonathan Vilma tweeted "Gregg williams is a great coach, I wish him luck in st Louis."

A Rams spokesman said Fisher would discuss his coaching staff at the news conference. Fisher and Williams, both 53, were together with the Houston Oilers/Tennessee Titans franchise from 1994 to 2000.

Williams was in the final year of his contract and became available after the Saints' 36-32 divisional playoff loss to the San Francisco 49ers on Saturday.

The Ramsagreed to hire Fisher, who sat out last season after spending 17 years with the Titans, on Friday. Fisher was the top coaching candidate this offseason and picked the Rams, who went 2-14 last season and own just 15 wins in the last five years, over the Miami Dolphins.

Fisher replaces Steve Spagnuolo, who was 10-38 in three seasons as the Rams' coach. The team also is seeking a general manager to replace Billy Devaney, who was fired on the same day as Spagnuolo.
