Steelers exec Khan reportedly draws interest for Rams GM post

The St. Louis Rams have asked for permission to interview Steelers director of administration Omar Khan for their general manager job, the Pittsburgh Tribune-Review reported Wednesday.

The 35-year-old Khan is considered an expert on the salary cap, one of his primary responsibilities with the Steelers.

The Rams fired coach Steve Spagnuolo and GM Billy Devaney on Jan. 2. They hired Jeff Fisher to replace Spagnuolo, but are still seeking Devaney's replacement.

NFL Network insider Jason La Canfora reported that the Rams are considering Minnesota Vikings director of player personnel George Paton, New York Jets vice president of college scouting Joey Clinkscales, Miami Dolphins director of player personnel Brian Gaine, Arizona Cardinals director of player personnel Steve Keim and Tennessee Titans vice president of football operations Lake Dawson.

Khan has been with the Steelers since 2000.
