Cards' Kolb recovers from concussion, unfazed by Manning talk

Cardinals quarterback Kevin Kolb told the Arizona Republic on Monday that he's fully recovered from his concussion and isn't concerned about speculation that the team might be interested in Peyton Manning if he is released by the Indianapolis Colts.

"I know how the NFL works," Kolb to the newspaper, "Anything is possible. I just try to keep my mind clear and do what I can on my end. I plan on having a great year and being a Cardinal for a long time."

Kolb, who would receive a $7 million bonus if he's on the Cardinals' roster March 17, said "every indication on my end shows me that I'll be there."

Kolb, who agreed to a five-year, $63 million extension that included $20 million guaranteed after the Cardinals acquired him in a trade with the Philadelphia Eagles last summer, was hampered by a foot injury and concussion last season. He missed four games because of the foot ailment and the last three games with the concussion. He has suffered concussions the last two seasons.

"I feel good," Kolb said. "I'd say it took three to four weeks after the season was over to not have any symptoms. Once my mind cleared, I got back to working out."

Kolb also said he has kept in contact with the coaching staff, including John McNulty, who has moved from receivers coach to quarterbacks coach.

"I'm excited about it," Kolb said. "I like him as a person and a coach and how he handles things. I think he'll push me to another level."
