Cincinnati Bengals offensive coordinator Jay Gruden was pleasantly surprised by the strong rookie season from quarterback Andy Dalton.

Now that Dalton will be able to utilize his first true NFL offseason, Gruden is expecting the signal-caller to make a leap forward in his sophomore campaigns.
"He better get better or he won't be good enough," Gruden told the team's official website. "You have to be great at that position and we think he can be great. That's why we drafted him where we did and he had a remarkable rookie season, no doubt about it. Knowing the kind of kid he is and how he works, I know he'll get better."
Though many have pointed to a No. 1 running back and a wide receiver to play opposite A.J. Green as top priorities, Gruden said he was not necessarily looking to shake up the offense.
"I'm not ready to kick guys off the team if we don't have guys that can replace them," Gruden said. "I'd like to have all our guys back."
