Broncos, Cards reportedly had different Peyton Manning plans

Peyton Manning's visits to Denver and Arizona couldn't have been more different, with the Broncos taking a low-key approach Friday that impressed the free-agent quarterback and the Cardinals rolling out the proverbial red carpet Sunday, The Denver Post reported, citing multiple sources.

Per Manning's request, no contract was discussed during either visit because his agent, Tom Condon, wasn't there, The Post said. Manning didn't bring his agent along because he mainly wanted to familiarize himself with the organizations and their personnel, the newspaper said.

Besides executive vice president John Elway and coach John Fox, The Post said Manning also spoke for 20 to 30 minutes with Broncos owner Pat Bowlen, who stressed that Super Bowls, and not division titles, are what he wants.

Manning, Elway and Fox had dinner Friday at Cherry Hills Country Club after spending nearly six hours at the Broncos' headquarters, The Post said. Former Broncos John Lynch and Brandon Stokley, a Manning teammate in Indianapolis, also made appearances, the newspaper said.

Manning met with the Cardinals for more than six hours Sunday and left in the evening. He met with Miami Dolphins coach Joe Philbin on Monday night in Indianapolis, a team source told NFL.com's Jeff Darlington.

Manning could make a decision by Tuesday, according to The Post.

The newspaper also reported that Manning declined visits to the Kansas City Chiefs and Seattle Seahawks. The Post even mentioned a "mystery" suitor, calling the San Francisco 49ers and Tennessee Titans possibilities.

The 49ersare in negotiations with incumbent quarterback Alex Smith, and Titans owner Bud Adams went public Sunday with his strong desire to land Manning.
