Though NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell hopes to complete the appeals process in the New Orleans Saints "bounty" scandal by the end of the week, the reviewing of all the information by the appealing parties could delay any rulings, a source with knowledge of the situation said Tuesday.
The Saints, head coach Sean Payton, general manager Mickey Loomis and assistant coach Joe Vitt have filed separate appeals for discipline handed down by Goodell in the bounty scandal.
As NFL Network insider Jason La Canfora reported Monday, citing league sources, the appeals hearings have yet to be scheduled as of early Tuesday morning.
Representatives for those parties are seeking to review the information gathered by NFL security over a lengthy investigation -- a process which might not be reviewable in a matter of days, the source said.
