Nick Mangold isn't a stranger to the circus atmosphere now synonymous with the New York Jets. He has seen it all since joining the team in 2006: Spygate, Brett Favre madness, "Hard Knocks" and January's very public team implosion.
"It's not that bad. I think we've had live-tweeting going on for quite some time now," Mangold said. "You know it just so happens we have Tim here, (he's) a dynamic player that brings a lot with him. It makes it just a little more interesting here in May, leading up into training camp."
Can Mangold handle a whole season of this?
"I think it'll be all right," he said. "This is New York and things come and go, and I'm not too concerned with how the waves are going right now."
Mangold was asked how he believed quarterback Mark Sanchez is dealing with having the most famous understudy on the planet.
"I've seen Mark handle all kinds of things," he said. "From coming in here as a rookie, dealing with 'hot dog-gate' at the Raiders a couple years ago. He's held his own, and I'm not too concerned about his new development, and he's going to be fine. He's going to be a heck of a player for us."
Mangold isn't the first to sing Sanchez's praises this month, and it appears many in the organization believe the fourth-year pro is ready to make the leap in the upcoming season. Of course, we heard the same thing last year, too.
