Minnesota Vikings wide receiver Percy Harvin has been a willing participant at the team's mandatory minicamp, but training camp could be a different story.
NFL.com's Ian Rapoport was with the Vikings on Tuesday and confirmed reports that Harvin is unhappy with the team. Rapoport reported that Harvin's issues didn't appear to be contract-related.
On the mend from shoulder surgery, the 24-year-old receiver is under contract with the team for another two seasons, scheduled to make $915,000 in 2012 and $1.55 million in 2014. That's low for a player who produces the way Harvin has over his first three seasons.
"I just put it this way, there's a lot of different things that have to be sorted out," Harvin told The Associated Press. "Just haven't been really happy lately. We've got a couple of things to work on. I'm here in the classroom. We'll go from there."
Coach Leslie Frazier believes Harvin's "issues" with his current deal can be solved by training camp.
"Well, I really feel like when he and I sit down and talk about whatever is on his heart or his mind we'll get through it," Frazier told reporters during his Tuesday news conference.
With the return of running back Adrian Peterson still in question, the Vikings figure to lean heavily on Harvin, especially in the early going. The thought of second-year quarterback Christian Ponder taking the field without either A.P. or Harvin generates only unpleasant images for a team without much firepower outside of its two top performers.
