Miami Dolphins wide receiver Brian Hartline didn't participate in the team's mandatory minicamp this month because of a recent appendectomy, the fourth-year player told WQAM on Saturday.
Hartline stressed he would be ready for the start of training camp and that he's got new offensive coordinator Mike Sherman's playbook "pretty down pat."
"It's going better now," Hartline said of his health. "It's been a little bumpy the past couple of months, but I'm on the right path now."
After briefly being hospitalized for the appendectomy, Hartline isn't worried about making up for lost time on the field.
"I've got a little bit of stuff to make up but again, I've got a full month," he said. "That's plenty of time. Real life happens sometimes and that's just what it is."
Hartline is coming off a 2011 season in which he had 31 catches for 506 yards and three touchdowns.
