New England Patriots starting guard Logan Mankins did not accompany his teammates to Buffalo on Saturday and will not play in Sunday's game against the Bills, according to Tom E. Curran of Comcast SportsNet New England.
Mankins had missed three days of practice this week because of a hip injury. Teammates Julian Edelman and Aaron Hernandez are also out for the Patriots.
The news comes on the heels of the team's signing of former New Orleans Saints offensive lineman Matt Tennant.
UPDATE: The Patriots officially ruled Mankins out for the game. Tight end Rob Gronkowski, also suffering from an ailing hip, will play.
