1969 — Oakland quarterback Darryle Lamonica throws six touchdown passes in a 50-21 victory over Buffalo.

October 20

1996 — Jacksonville wide receiver Keenan McCardell catches 16 passes, tied for the third highest total in NFL history, in the Jaguars' 17-14 loss at St. Louis.

October 21

1973 — Los Angeles Rams defensive end Fred Dryer becomes the first player to record two safeties in one game in the Rams' 24-7 victory over the Green Bay Packers.

October 22

2000 — Corey Dillon rushes for 278 yards and two touchdowns on 22 carries in Cincinnati's 31-21 victory over Denver to break Walter Payton's single-game rushing record. Dillon established the NFL rookie record (since broken) with a 246-yard outburst against Tennessee on Dec. 4, 1997.

October 23

1994 — Mel Gray passes Ron Smith to become the all-time NFL leader in kickoff return yards. Gray finishes his career with 10,250 yards.

October 24

1943 — The Green Bay Packers intercept a record nine passes in their 27-6 victory over the Detroit Lions.

October 25

1979 — San Diego quarterback Dan Fouts throws for 303 yards at Oakland, setting an NFL record by topping 300 yards for the fourth straight game.
