Mike Kafka is without a home, but that might not last for long.
After Kafka was released by the Philadelphia Eagles on Friday, the third-year quarterback is already generating interest, according to Tim McManus of PhillyMag.com.

McManus reports that four teams -- the Kansas City Chiefs, New England Patriots, Green Bay Packers and Cleveland Browns -- have checked in on Kafka, who the Eagles swept to the side in favor of journeyman Trent Edwards. Kafka looms as a waiver wire pickup and the four teams mentioned make sense.
Here's why: (1) Chiefs backup Brady Quinn won the No. 2 job, but injured his neck during his final preseason performance. Kafka would be an insurance grab in Kansas City, where Quinn hasn't dazzled. (2) The Patriotscut Bryan Hoyer on Friday. Kafka isn't an upgrade, but he'd come cheap. (3) The Packers cannot be comfortable with Graham Harrell behind Aaron Rodgers. He was a minor disaster in the preseason. (4) The Brownsreleased Seneca Wallace, but might still be open to trading Colt McCoy (sigh).
The next chapter in this Kafka novel -- hopefuly less dark and beguiling than those of old -- might reveal itself this weekend, so we'll keep on top of it.
