Seahawks give their fans opportunity to clean house

Seahawks faithful: Having a tough time sleeping with that florescent-green Aaron Curry jersey glowing from your bedroom closet?

Your troubles are over.

Now that Curry, the fourth overall pick of the 2009 draft, has been shipped to the Oakland Raiders for a pair of undisclosed draft picks, Seattle's fans are off the hook on that jersey purchase.

"Trade your non-rostered player jersey at The Pro Shop by Oct 16 and receive 25% off any regular-priced Seahawks jersey in the store," the team tweeted Tuesday.

So, that means not just Curry, but the whole raging cast of characters jettisoned by this franchise -- ever.

No more floating around town in that outmoded Matt Hasselbeck get-up. Gone are the lonely Netflix nights in that raggedy Lofa Tatupu replica. And that overcrowded T.J. Houshmandzadeh monstrosity? Dump it, people.

The Seahawks have a good plan here. The team announced that all jerseys will go to Seattle-based YouthCare, serving local homeless youth.

A kind-hearted gesture, and one that should net a couple thousand Brian Bosworths, if we're lucky.
