Packers' McKenzie reportedly in line for GM role with Raiders

The Oakland Raiders have decided to hire Green Bay Packers director of football operations Reggie McKenzie as their general manager, ESPN reported Thursday night, citing a league source.

The report said former Raiders executives Ron Wolf and Ken Herock and former Oakland coach John Madden, who are helping the franchise search for its new general manager, all backed McKenzie for the job.

McKenzie interviewed with the Raiders on Wednesday.

The 48-year-old has served as Green Bay's director of football operations since 2008, and has been with the Packers' front office since 1994. He played linebacker in the NFL for seven seasons, spending time with the Raiders, Arizona Cardinals and San Francisco 49ers.
