"Tony is going to play a lot more than two more years," Jones told the Fort Worth Star-Telegram on Tuesday. "We are going to take care of Tony. Tony is going to be a Cowboy."
The Cowboys haven't yet discussed a contract extension with Romo, according to the Star-Telegram, but Jones said the only issue that needs to be fleshed out is numbers. As far as Jones is concerned, Romo will be a Cowboy for the rest of his career.
"There are not many better than him out there," Jones said. "I hear it -- he hasn't gotten it done yet. I hear it, all of that. But you are not going to find much better than Tony Romo. Every year, he improves. As he gets better, our chances get better."
Despite battling rib injuries throughout the season, Romo posted one of his best statistical seasons in 2011. Romo threw for 4,184 yards and 31 touchdowns with 10 interceptions, though the Cowboys once again fell short of the playoffs.
Jones isn't the only staunch Romo supporter on the Cowboys, as Jones' father, owner Jerry Jones, recently told the team's official website he wouldn't trade Romo for either Andrew Luck or Robert Griffin III -- widely considered the top two quarterback prospects in April's draft.
