We'll remember Brodie Croyle as a symbol of the Herm Edwards era in Kansas City. We'll remember his wife's starring role in the "Hard Knocks" season with the Kansas City Chiefs.
We'll remember the rainy Week 17 Croyle-Kellen Clemens showdown during Edwards' return to the Meadowlands in what may have been the ugliest game I have ever watched. After five NFL seasons, Croyle has officially retired.
"I'm very grateful for everything football gave me," Croyle told the Mobile Register. "I just felt it was time, and that's a mutual decision with NFL football. There's very few guys who retire on their own terms."
Croyle was out of the league last year after getting cut by the Cardinals. He had a few more tryouts, but nothing came of them. Croyle battled shoulder and knee issues throughout his career. Now he's moved back to Alabama, where he plans to attend every home game of his alma matter this season.
