It's not uncommon to hear Tony Romo supporters claim the Dallas Cowboys quarterback is disrespected.
But what about "Melrose Place" star Jack Wagner? What about "Melrose Place" star Jack Wagner?!
Lombardi: All eyes on Romo
When Jerry Jones talked about the Cowboys' window closing, he sent a message to Tony Romo, Michael Lombardi writes. **More ...**
ESPN.com reported Wednesday that Romo has been deemed the favorite to win it all at this weekend's American Century Championship celebrity golf tournament, despite "Melrose Place" star Jack Wagner returning to defend his crown.
The tournament -- which drew 40,000 spectators in 2011 -- has long been a magnet for star professional athletes and Hollywood celebrities. Curiously, Romo's twisting narrative at the Lake Tahoe event has mirrored his NFL career. Back-to-back-to-back second-place finishes. Always the bridesmaid, never the bride.
To extend this further, "Melrose Place" star Jack Wagner can be compared to New York Giants quarterback Eli Manning. Wagner has won this tournament twice, while Eli has two tournament wins of his own, though his ended with him hoisting the Lombardi Trophy. Unrelated but perhaps interesting side note: Eli Manning was 12 when "Melrose Place" was at its zenith for FOX in 1993. Twenty years later, Eli is now a yearly FOX ratings behemoth.
Of course, Romo and his Dallas Cowboys do pretty well in the ratings themselves. Perhaps Romo can use this as trash talk in his unending war against "Melrose Place" star Jack Wagner.
