Reggie Wayne arrives at Colts camp wearing fatigues

Eight of the 90 players the Indianapolis Colts have under contract for the 2012 season are over the age of 30. The only projected starter over 30 on offense is wide receiver Reggie Wayne, who enters this season with a 166-games-played streak that is four full seasons ahead of his closest challenger (the Atlanta Falcons' Roddy White) at the receiver position.

As a leader on a team undergoing major changes in every area, Wayne used his Saturday arrival at training camp to send a message to his teammates. Wearing military fatigues, Wayne "reported for duty" along with a convoy of Humvees and members of the Indiana National Guard.

"I don't want people to look at this like it's a joke, a gimmick," Wayne said, via Mike Chappell of the Indianapolis Star. "I fully support our military and I'm taking a page out of their book. I want our team to take a page out of their book. These guys are what you call true heroes."

According to Chappell, Wayne has a history of unique training camp arrivals. He's honored teammates that had moved on in the offseason and shown up in a dump truck. Wayne previously attempted a similar entrance to the one Saturday, but the former decision-makers in the Colts' organization blocked it.

The Colts hit the practice field for the first time Sunday morning.
