The Green Bay Packers have signed running back Cedric Benson, the team announced via its official website.
Benson's agent, Eugene Parker, confirmed on Friday that Benson had visited with the Packers
Green Bay chose not to re-sign Ryan Grant after last season. Signing Benson will add much-need depth and experience at the running back position.
The veteran spent the past four seasons with the Cincinnati Bengals, where he led the team in rushing each season. He has rushed for 5,769 yards and 31 touchdowns over his career.
