Pittsburgh Steelers fans can breathe a sigh of relief. Linebacker James Harrison will not start the regular season on the physically unable to perform (PUP) list.
The Steelers officially activated Harrison and linebacker Jason Worilds from the active/PUP list Tuesday. That means they are not eligible to remain on the list during the regular season, which would have knocked them out for the first six games of the regular season.
Following Mike Wallace's return to the team, this has been a very good day in Pittsburgh.
Harrison underwent knee surgery less than two weeks ago, but the Steelers have expressed some optimism that he still could be ready for Week 1. Worilds is another contributor at outside linebacker.
The Steelers have a lot of injury questions going into the season opener against the Denver Broncos. Running back Rashard Mendenhall is not expected to be ready. The offensive line already is banged up. This all sounds very negative, but this usually is when the Steelers are at their best.
