Most of America is enjoying Labor Day with their families. The Dallas Cowboys and New York Giants are fine-tuning their game plans for a regular-season opener that is just two days away.
In Tony Romo's mind, that means he's done with silly questions. He's been asked about Cowboys owner Jerry Jones' comments about the team's window closing one too many times. From the New York Post:
"The Cowboys quarterback wouldn't even let a Post reporter finish his question yesterday before slapping his knees, exclaiming, "That's it!" and walking out in a huff from his regular weekly media session after just seven minutes," Bart Hubbuch, aka "a Post reporter," wrote Monday.
We wrote back in April that this shapes up as a make-or-break year for Romo in Dallas. Since then, we've heard Troy Aikman, Jimmy Johnson, Roger Stabauch and many others come to Romo's defense.
We read in the Football Outsiders' Almanac that Romo had better numbers last year in "late and close" situations than any quarterback in football except Aaron Rodgers, Drew Brees and Tom Brady.
On Wednesday night, we finally can start talking about this season's performance. Like Romo, we can't wait.
