The Miami Dolphins have closed the doors on "7-Eleven."
The Dolphinsterminated the contract of wide receiver Chris Hogan on Tuesday, a little more than a week after signing the HBO "Hard Knocks" star to their practice squad.
Breer: 'Hard Knocks' regrets?
In a wide-ranging notes column, Albert Breer talks to Miami coach Joe Philbin about his "Hard Knocks" experience. **More ...**
Hogan was one of the players "Hard Knocks" cameras tracked during the season's five-episode run. Reggie Bush gave him the "7-Eleven" nickname because he was "always open" ... against substandard defensive backs, anyway.
Hogan was cut loose in part so the Dolphins could sign defensive tackle Chas Alecxih, another unknown who was closely documented on the reality series.
You might recall Alecxih's sordid tale of being lost in the Gulf of Mexico for eight hours when his Jet Ski broke down and subsequently floated away. He was rescued minutes before the Coast Guard was set to call off its search.
Now Hogan's Dolphins dreams must die so that Alecixih's may live. It's the circle of life, premium-cable style.
