Lauren Tannehill doesn't quite understand why people make a big deal about her.
"It's crazy," she told NFL Network's Kimberly Jones this week. "I'm not that interesting."
Of course, people aren't drawn to Lauren Tannehill because of her opinions on American foreign policy. It's about the red dress from the 2012 NFL Draft. The modeling pics online. And let's not forget her ubiquitous blonde presence on HBO's "Hard Knocks."
Jones: Going beyond the blonde
How has life changed for Lauren Tannehill? Kim Jones visits with the celebrity wife of the Dolphins' new QB. **More ...**
By all accounts, Lauren appears to be leading a fairy-tale life with her husband, Miami Dolphins quarterback Ryan Tannehill. One of the more enjoyable aspects of "Hard Knocks" was seeing how long HBO producers could hold out before putting Lauren on screen. They usually lasted 10 to 12 minutes.
In one segment, Lauren and Ryan put together an end table from Ikea. Painfully staged? Most likely. But nobody complained.
"I actually didn't have any idea what to expect; I like to keep our life kind of private," she told Jones over the phone. "But I thought the show accurately portrayed (us). They can make you look anyway they want to on TV. I didn't know what they were going to make of me. I thought they really did a good job."
Lauren watched from home as her husband won his first career game last Sunday against the Oakland Raiders.
"We're so excited, so grateful," Lauren says. "He was such a stud out there, so comfortable."
Ryan might be embarrased to hear his wife describing him as "a stud" in public. Then again, this is not Ryan Tannehill's world.
