Baltimore Ravens linebacker Terrell Suggs wants to return to action Oct. 21 against the Houston Texans, ESPN's Chris Mortensen reported Sunday. The reigning NFL Defensive Player of the Year had surgery in May to repair a partially torn Achilles tendon.

Ravens coach John Harbaugh, however, wants to be cautious. He plans to wait a week after the medical staff clears Suggs, Mortensen reported. That could be Nov. 4, after the Ravens' Oct. 28 bye.
Those numbers undoubtedly will improve when Suggs returns. The Ravens' pass rush has been average, and Suggs will improve that immediately. Just like the Pittsburgh Steelers' defense will improve with the return of linebacker James Harrison.
