Oakland Raiders running back Darren McFadden suffered a high ankle sprain during Sunday's 42-32 loss to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, according to ESPN's Adam Schefter.
McFadden is scheduled to undergo an MRI on Monday, according to Schefter.
McFadden was seen jogging into the Raiders' locker room with a trainer near the end of the second quarter after coming up limping. McFadden had seven carries for 17 yards before the injury.
Mike Goodson replaced McFadden, but he injured an ankle and also was ruled out for the game.
It's ugly news for a Raiders ground attack that has struggled this season. Oakland ranks 30th in the NFL in rushing and produced just 17 yards on the ground in the first half against Tampa Bay.
Goodson is an adequate fit for Oakland's zone-blocking scheme. The Raiders have found occasional success on the ground when McFadden is allowed enough carries to find his rhythm. He has ripped off a series of longer runs in that case, but it has been rare.
McFadden has missed 19 games in his first four seasons because of a series of injuries. It's a significant loss for the Raiders.
