Detroit Lions coaches argue on sideline during loss

It wouldn't be a high-profile Detroit Lions loss without a little coaching drama.

Fox television cameras caught offensive coordinator Scott Linehan and wide receivers coach Shawn Jefferson having a heated exchange on the sideline late in the Lions' 24-20 loss to the Green Bay Packers while they unsuccessfully tried to mount a game-winning drive.

The Detroit Free Press later reported that the argument was over Lions wide receiver Titus Young, who was benched for the team's last three offensive plays. Young was targeted on two of four incomplete passes on Detroit's second-to-last drive.

We won't try to read lips to see if the coaches were bickering about Young, but you can try by watching the video above. These are the things that happen when you can't win a game in your own division: The Lions fell to 0-4 in the NFC North and look destined to finish in the cellar one year after making the playoffs.

It's not a huge deal that coaches yelled at each other, but it's a little surprising it happened with the game still on the line.

"I'd rather not go into it," Lions coach Jim Schwartz said, via the Detroit Free Press, after the game. "Everybody was disappointed not to be able to score a touchdown on that last drive."

The Lions' uneven, somewhat dysfunctional season will be on display for everyone to see on Thanksgiving Day.
