RG3 ready for big homecoming vs. Dallas Cowboys

Robert Griffin III will play in his second homecoming game of the season when his Washington Redskins take on the Dallas Cowboyson Thanksgiving Day.

The Redskins' Week 1 win in New Orleans (from where Griffin's family hails) was billed as a homecoming for RG3, but the rookie quarterback considers Texas his home.

"It'll be fun. I'll get to see a lot of familiar faces," Griffin said Wednesday. "I have a lot of fans down there who got to see me grow up in Copperas Cove, Texas, and then go to college at Baylor. It'll definitely be a good homecoming. More so a homecoming than New Orleans was. But, certainly looking forward to having fun. We're going there with one goal in mind, and that's to win."

Griffin, born overseas while his parents -- both U.S. Army sergeants -- were stationed in Japan, spent his formative years in Texas, rooting for the Denver Broncos. He said growing up he had friends who were "big, big Cowboy fans" and he enjoyed bragging when the Broncosbeat the Cowboys on Thanksgiving -- the last time a 24-21 overtime victory for Denver in 2005.

He said those friends told him they hope he has a good game, but they aren't rooting for his team to feast on Turkey Day.

"They tell me they'll be cheering for me, but that they still want their guys to win," Griffin said. "I can accept that, but we've still got to go out and get the victory."
