One week after calling the New York Jets' front office a bunch of idiots, wide receiver Braylon Edwards is back with the organization again. He'd like to stay with the idiots for a while.
"That's a funny sequence of events," Mark Sanchez told Conor Orr of The Star-Ledger at a charity event Wednesday night.
Manish Mehta of the New York Daily News writes not to rule out the possibility that Edwards could be more than a three-game rental for the Jets.
"It feels great to be going home. Thanks to all of jet nation that supported me and pushed for me. I'm back and it's go time," Edwards wrote on Twitter on Tuesday.
Edwards sent out another tweet Wednesday morning: "It's beyond belief to see the level of support and love that jet nation has for the kid. I'm ready to rock and roll. And the beard is back."
Jets fans might want to hold off on breaking out the Braylon jerseys just yet. The Jets reportedly didn't want to sign him last offseason. He has been released by two different organizations -- the San Francisco 49ers and Seattle Seahawks -- in less than a year. He's at the point of his career in which he's just a late-season pickup for a desperate team like New York.
This might be a funny story and a happy one for Edwards, but it also could very well be the last short stop of his NFL career.
