Darlington: Tebow's career ending?
What's the future hold for Tim Tebow? The possibility exists that he's done as a QB, Jeff Darlington writes. **More ...**
Tim Tebow continues to publicly say the right things despite being passed by Greg McElroy on the New York Jets' depth chart.
Tebow went to New York with aspirations of competing for the Jets' starting quarterback job. Mark Sanchez held on for 15 weeks before being yanked by coach Rex Ryan. But Ryan then gave the keys to the offense to McElroy instead.
Tebow was asked Wednesday if he wants to return in 2013?
"I'll just wait until after the season to look at things like that," Tebow said Wednesday, via Newsday's Bob Glauber.
USA Today's Mike Garafolo said Tebow had several opportunities to say he wants to remain a Jet. He used the "after the season" line each time.
Schein: Looking for a good QB
Adam Schein finds nine teams around the NFL -- like the Jets -- that need to shake things up in a big way at QB. **More ...**
"I think it's fair to say I'm a little disappointed in the decision," Tebow said.
Tebow isn't a Pro Bowl player. He's a borderline starter, but he did lead the Denver Broncos to a playoff win in 2011, and at least deserved a shot when Sanchez was among the worst quarterbacks in the NFL. The Jets' coaching staff obviously has no faith in Tebow.
If that's the case, all parties need to move on.
