Lovie Smith expected to interview with Buffalo Bills

The Buffalo Bills haven't been lazy in their search for a new head coach.

NFL.com's Ian Rapoport reported Thursday that the Bills are talking with Lovie Smith and expect to officially interview him in Buffalo soon, according to a source with knowledge of the fired Chicago Bears coach's plans.

The source told Rapoport the Buffalo opening intrigues Smith. He has generated interest from a handful of teams shopping for coaches, but the Bills interview would mark his first since being let go by the Bears.

The Bills' search has been a wide one and reportedly includes Oregon's Chip Kelly, Arizona Cardinals defensive coordinator Ray Horton, Syracuse's Doug Marrone, fired Cardinals coach Ken Whisenhunt and Denver Broncos offensive coordinator Mike McCoy.
