NFL.com's Ian Rapoport confirmed Tuesday that the team will sign veteran kicker Ryan Longwell. A 15-year veteran who has not kicked in the NFL this season, Longwell was one of several kickers who came into Seattle's facility for a tryout Tuesday.
Hauschka suffered a left calf injury during the first half of last Sunday's 24-14 wild-card win over the Washington Redskins. He left the game briefly before returning with a noticeable limp. Punter Jon Ryan was forced into kickoff duties at one point, putting the Seahawks in a very vulnerable position.
ESPN reported Hauschka still is in the mix to kick in Sunday's divisional-round matchup against the Atlanta Falcons and will be examined as the week progresses. If Hauschka can't go, Longwell is the man.
