Tony Sparano, Kansas City Chiefs reportedly to meet

Former New York Jets offensive coordinator Tony Sparano is scheduled to interview Monday for the Kansas City Chiefs' offensive line coach job, ESPN reported, citing league sources.

Sparano was fired Tuesday after one season with the Jets, who finished 30th in total offense. Quarterback Mark Sanchez badly regressed, and Sparano was unable to find a niche in the offense for backup Tim Tebow. Before landing in New York, Sparano spent four seasons as the Miami Dolphins' head coach.

The Chiefs -- who hired Andy Reid as their coach last week -- announced Friday the additions of Doug Pederson as offensive coordinator and Bob Sutton as defensive coordinator. Sutton and Sparano were on Rex Ryan's staff with the Jets last season.

According to ESPN, the Chiefs had been in "serious negotiations" with George Warhop to become their offensive line coach before he decided to stay with the Cleveland Browns. Sparano has talked with several teams for an offensive line coachi job since his Tuesday dismissal.
