Super Bowl XLVII comes custom-built with one of the greatest storylines ever: Jim Harbaugh vs. John Harbaugh. Brother against brother. Lombardi Trophy at stake.
Jim didn't have much to say about the possibility of the matchup after the San Francisco 49erstook care of business in Sunday's early game against the Atlanta Falcons. John spoke openly about it after the Baltimore Ravensknocked off the New England Patriots.
"I don't know if we had a dream this big," Harbaugh said. "We had a few dreams, we had a few fights. We had a few arguments. We will try to stay out of that business. We'll let the two teams duke it out as much as possible."
He was asked if he'd be able to stand two weeks of Harbaugh vs. Harbaugh hype.
"You know what? I agree with you," Harbaugh said, drawing laughs. "Let's just cut that right now, you know what I mean? Can we all agree? Let's just forget about that. We did that last year. It was fine. It got old last year, right? Did it not?"
The Ravens and 49ers met during the 2011 season, a 16-6 Baltimore win on Thanksgiving night.
"I'd like to think that our two teams are very similar," John said. "I'd like to think that when you look at those two teams, you're looking at mirror images of two football teams. It's going to be a great football game."
