Dan Connor signs 1-year contract with New York Giants

Dan Connor has landed in New York.

The former Dallas Cowboys linebacker signed a one-year contract with the Giants on Saturday, a source confirmed to NFL.com's Ian Rapoport. The Giants later confirmed the signing.

Connor was released by the Cowboysbefore the start of free agency. He played four years with the Carolina Panthers after being drafted in the third round of the 2008 NFL Draft.

Connor will compete for the starting middle linebacker job with the Giants after starting eight games during his lone season with the Cowboys. He posted a career-high 75 tackles in 2011 and had 56 tackles in 2012.
