New York Giants defensive tackle Shaun Rogers told police in Miami Beach that $440,000 in jewelry was stolen from his room safe at the Fontainebleau hotel over the weekend, according to CBS Miami.
The 12-year veteran told police he met a woman at Club Liv Sunday night and brought her back to his room, the report said. Rogers alleged that he later fell asleep, and when he awoke, the woman was gone and he couldn't open the room safe.
Hotel security reportedly pried the safe open, and Rogers' possessions were not there.
Multiple reports say Rogers listed the following items as stolen: diamond earrings worth $100,000; two wristwatches worth a combined $160,000; a gold necklace with gold pendant worth $50,000; gold bracelets worth $60,000; and a diamond Cuban necklace with a gold pendant worth $70,000.
The Giants signed Rogers to a one-year, $1.005 million contract in February that drops to $433,000 if he winds up on injured reserve like he did in 2012.
