Will Victor Cruz of New York Giants join Jay-Z's agency?

Robinson Cano made waves in the sports business world on Tuesday when it was announced the New York Yankees' All-Star second baseman would be leaving super-agent Scott Boras for a new agency founded by Jay-Z.

The agency, Roc Nation, is affiliated with Creative Artists Agency Sports and has the potential to make a huge imprint on the industry. Cano is the first major client to land with Roc Nation, but don't expect him to be the last.

It might be a matter of time before the man they call Hova spreads his tentacles into the NFL. New York Giants wide receiver Victor Cruz recently fired his agent to sign with Tom Condon of CAA. Cruz has a relationship with Jay-Z, and the receiver dodged the question of a business partnership with the rap mogul after a game last October.

"I'd rather keep that under wraps," Cruz said Tuesday, via USA Today. "I don't want to let the cat out of the bag just yet."

And now allow us to take the speculation a bit further: If you've followed the evolution of Cruz's touchdown dance, you know his signature salsa now is followed by Jay-Z's well-known "Illuminati" hand gesture.

Maybe Cruz just thought that would be a cool thing to do. But it's not ridiculous to see it as a sign of a possible partnership to come.
