New England Patriots tight end Aaron Hernandez isn't worried about the team retooling its receiving corps in 2013.
"As long as you have Tom Brady, no matter who is around him, it's going to be a great offense," Hernandez told the Boston Herald on Wednesday when asked about the team's top two receivers in 2012 no longer on the roster. "We have a lot of weapons now...I'm excited for this next season."
Emmanuel Sanders signed a restricted free agent offer sheet with New England on Wednesday, and if the Pittsburgh Steelers decide not to match it, the Patriots will pair Sanders with fellow newcomer Danny Amendola.
The new additions to the offense, coupled with questions about whether tight end Rob Gronkowskiwill be ready for the start of the season, put more pressure on Hernandez to play a full 16-game slate in 2013 -- something the fourth-year pro hasn't been able to accomplish thus far in his career.
Hernandez is spending the offseason working out in Los Angeles to try and be better prepared to do just that.
"I'd say I started (working out) a little earlier this year to maybe try to get through 16 games this season," he told the Herald. "It's away from everything else -- away from my family, my friends, gives me time to focus on football, focus on my main priorities in life."
