Atlanta Falcons safety William Moore is in trouble with the law.
The Atlanta Journal-Constitution reported that Moore was arrested and charged with simple battery Thursday, according to Fulton County jail records.
Tracy Flanagan, public affairs officer at the Fulton County Sheriff's Office, later confirmed the arrest and charge. Moore's first appearance hearing is at Fulton County Jail at 11 a.m. on Friday. No bond was set.
"We are aware of the situation involving William Moore and are in the process of gathering more information," the Falcons said in a statement. "Because this is now a legal matter, the club will have no further comment at this time."
The details surrounding the charge are unknown at this time. The arrest comes a month after Moore, 27, signed a five-year, $30 million contract extension with the Falcons.
Moore has had no prior issues with the law in his four years in the NFL.
